The Bible demonstrates man's united quest to show himself as great as God. We find this first in the construction of the Tower of Babel early on in the life of man. Everyone joined together in an attempt to build a tower up to the heavens. Through their unified effort, they hoped to be able to boast that they could exalt themselves to the heavens, like God. Most people would agree that had they accomplished their goal of building a tower to "heaven," they still would not have begun to compare with the glory and greatness of God.
Regardless of past attempts, however, the Bible prophecies that in these Last Days man will attempt to build himself up like God again; but rather than building a single structure like the tower of Babel, they will build a single system. It will be called a Babylonian system, and it will join everyone together as one - against Jehovah God - our Creator. We are seeing this prophecy in motion today, called "The New World Order."

Updates on the New Religious System
Apostate Christians are those Christians who have fallen away from truth. The Spirit of the Lord warned us of a specific "falling away" through the apostle Paul. We find this truth in II Thessalonians, chapter two. You may find it surprising that some of the most popular evangelicals today are leaders in the ecumenical movement to join all faiths as one.
Apostate Christians are leading the way in bringing all religions together based upon beliefs common to all - namely human justice and compassion. Justice and compassion are strong characteristics of true Christianity, but they are also common characteristics of human nature. This ecumenical/humanist one-world religion that will be endorsed by governments everywhere focuses on these Christian themes, while also denying Christians the right and liberty to proclaim Jesus Christ as He really is: the Son of God; the only Savior for mankind; dead, buried, and resurrected; ascended to His Father; and returning for His blood-bought children.
Those religious ones among them who are not Christian define pure Christianity as a narrow, divisive religion that is no longer of benefit to the world. They magnify Christian characteristics of compassion and justice (as they define them) while eliminating Christianity's most important theme - the Person of Jesus Christ as He really is. This is extremely dangerous and should be avoided at all costs.

"But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night... But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night." I Thess. 5:1,2,4-7 NKJV
The Bible is abundantly clear in proclaiming that Jesus Christ is coming at a time when we "think not." Notwithstanding, the Bible also gives us distinct markers of the season of His coming. If we are in tune to what the Bible reveals, and if we are "looking" for His return by seeking to "walk in the Spirit," then His coming will not "overtake us as a thief," though it will still be a surprise. No one knows the day or the hour of His return - neither shall we ever know it. But we are cautioned to seek Him for understanding of the times and seasons.
Every generation since the apostles has proclaimed unashamedly that Jesus Christ could return at any moment. I believe they were all inspired of the Spirit to do just that, even though He is still yet to return. This is all a part of God's plan to keep us "on our toes." He wants us "watching" so that we are "ready" for it. As time progresses, however, the Spirit's revealing of things increases; and we are realizing that it is most likely that, before He returns, the church will be tried and tested all over the world. For this testing, we should prepare ourselves NOW. It is upon us already!
